brasa-brasis collection: languages of brazil

What we can say about language is that it is constantly changing. The vernacular Portuguese language, which interests us at the moment, is no exception to the rule, on the contrary, it reaffirms in its historicity constant transformations that show trajectories that begin in Portugal, find roots in the native languages of indigenous peoples and Africans and continue in the speeches of people in the whole extent of this great country. To study the languages of Brazil is to understand the fundamental cultural aspects to think about its social and identity formation.
In this way, given the linguistic plurality existing in Brazil, one cannot make the mistake of ignoring the different languages that inhabit the Brazilian states, varying in accents and dialects, in favor of a cultured/standard Portuguese, which, despite being important, is an organism constantly changing.
To see this plural Brazil, it is essential to look closely at its regions, identifying their riches and their paths, and the language certainly allows us this immersion. In this sense, this public notice aims to receive proposals for the organization of books in the field of linguistic studies to compose the collection
Brasa-Brasis: Languages of Brazil🇧🇷With this collection, we aim to draw a regional overview of the linguistic productions produced in each state of the country. A book will be organized for each state, containing around ten chapters, in the form of a scientific article, which deal with the different levels of linguistic analysis of the different ways of speaking Brazilian Portuguese. Altogether we will have 27 books that will represent the production of each state. The books will be published throughout 2022, in digital format (e-book) and will be available for free download.
